Muffins and pastries for breakfast are similar to eating cake in the morning. Even muffins labeled "healthy" can be high in sugar, especially those with chocolate or minimal fruit content.
Choose fruit-based muffins sparingly, and remember that pastries are often packed with saturated fats. Savory muffins with vegetables and less sugar may be a better option, but pastries should be occasional treats.
